Astro-Club
AAV Lue-Stailas is an astrophotography center offering to its guests a limited number of accommodation units with or without breakfast and half-board. In our Astro-Club people interested in astronomy, photography and the nature of Val Muestair are welcome and can obtain information about our Center and its activities. In a relaxing atmosphere, people can talk, listen to jazz, read through thematic books or journals, watch movies about astronomy, nature and the world around us, and browse the internet.
To make your stay with us even more pleasant, we offer special AAV refreshments and snacks such as the Gomez Hamburger, the Strudel Galaxy, the UFO Plate, or the Venus cake. We are already well known for our excellent choice of coffees - espresso, latte macchiato, lattino, café mélange, and others - freshly prepared with beans from Badilatti, a famous company in Graubuenden and the highest coffee roaster in Europe.
 
 
 
Special events
 In the case of seminars and organized group events, there is the possibility of special orders for meals such as lunch or dinner for whole groups as well. The group limit size is thereby 16 persons.
You may arrange for special orders of traditional local Swiss cuisine such as fondue and raclettes.

Self-service
In
our experience, amateur astronomers vary widely in their meal requirements
- both content and timing. All our units have therefore fully equipped kitchenettes with heating plates, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, etc. Your will find all the necessary hardware for preparing of microwave snacks or full dinners, including dishes and cooking ware.
Meal packages and meals on request
You may either bring your food with you, enjoy a room with breakfast or half-board, or order meal packages (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) from us. The latter can be warmed up easily any time you need and independently from other visitors. You will find this particularly convenient in combination with your personal night observation schedule which will be shifted compared to a routine daily regime.
Food shopping
For buying food, there are several grocery stores in villages close by: Fuldera (3 km, 2 miles), Valchava (5 km, 3.5 miles), Sta-Maria (6.6 km, 4.1 miles), and Muestair (9.5 km, 6 miles). All of these places also offer a variety of traditional and gourmet restaurants. Also in Lue, there is a small traditional restaurant, the "Hirschen". |
